LEDC Investor Spotlight!
Emery Sapp is a leading player in the infrastructure industry and is continuing its impressive growth and demonstrating a strong commitment to their workforce and community.
Specializing in excavation, grading, underground utilities, bridge construction, and paving, the company has played a significant role in local infrastructure development. Their expansion into the U.S. Southwest and strategic acquisitions have further enhanced their ability to undertake and excel in large-scale projects.
Emery Sapp closed out 2023 with unprecedented success, surpassing the $1 billion revenue mark for the first time in its 52-year history. This milestone caps a period of extraordinary growth, with revenues soaring to $1.08 billion—up from $220 million in 2018. The company’s dramatic 491% increase over the past five years underscores its impressive expansion and robust market presence.
Tim Paulson, co-CEO, reflected on the company’s continued success: “Our record-breaking year in 2023 is a testament to the incredible performance of our team. As we move through 2024, we’re excited to build on this momentum and continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.”
The company’s commitment to delivering high-quality work and innovative solutions continues to make a positive impact on the communities they serve, including projects in the Liberty area. Emery Sapp is the infrastructure contractor for the Opus development at the Liberty Heartland Logistics Center: a multi-phase industrial development in Liberty. This 152-acre site is home to the new Hallmark Distribution Center expansion, TAB Batteries, and the recent announcement of the Animal Health International expansion. Their commitment to excellence not only supported business growth but also contributed to the economic vitality of Liberty, creating new jobs and strengthening the community.
Emery Sapp’s success is closely tied to its strong company culture and investment in its workforce. The company ESOP provides employees the opportunity to build wealth and creates an ownership culture. With a workforce that has grown from 650 in 2018 to over 2,600 in 2024, the company’s dedication to its people is clear.
Robert Gillis, PE, co-CEO, emphasized the importance of this investment: “Our people are at the heart of everything we do. Through our ESOP and training programs, we are able to attract and retain top talent, which is crucial for sustaining our success and continuing to deliver excellence in our projects.” As 2024 progresses, Emery Sapp is well-positioned to build on its recent successes and make further strides in infrastructure development.
We are incredibly thankful to have Emery Sapp as an investor. Their commitment to building strong infrastructure and supporting local communities aligns perfectly with our mission. With their expertise and dedication, they help us drive economic growth and create lasting opportunities for our region.
