LMV & Northland CAPS training program.

Missouri’s One-Stop Career Center

Serving the Kansas City Area and Liberty is Missouri’s One-Stop Career Center. This agency works with businesses, underemployed employees, unemployed workers to assure a quality workforce. The One-Stop has available training, resume assistance, on-line job postings and many programs for businesses.

The One-Stop Career Center’s purpose is to provide one-stop for career services for both employers and job seekers.

The closest One-Stop Career Center for Liberty is located on the Maple Woods Community College campus in the Human Services building, located in Gladstone, MO. The One-Stop Career Centers in this area are managed by the Full Employment Council. You can learn more about it at www.feckc.org.

Northland CAPS

Northland CAPS is revolutionizing high school education through a profession-based educational model, created in partnership with Cerner, Ford, Holland 1916 and North Kansas City Hospital. Northland CAPS serves junior and senior students in seven northland school districts,

Northland CAPS is a profession‐based learning approach where students are fully immersed in the business community, treated as professionals and participate in real projects, using industry standard tools with real business partners.

Students will gain professional skills in high demand/high skill careers, e.g. engineering, computer software engineering, advanced manufacturing, nursing, physicians, marketing, banking, etc. Students will begin their professional network with business partners and mentors, therefore jump‐starting their career all before they enter college.

Hiring Our Heroes, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, launched in March 2011 as a nationwide initiative to help veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find meaningful employment opportunities.

Working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s vast network of state and local chambers and strategic partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, our goal is to create a movement across America in hundreds of communities where veterans and military families return every day.

KC Tech Academy

KC Tech Academy is an industry-driven regional training initiative created by corporate leaders to address regional workforce development and skilled trade training challenges. KCTA focuses on providing practical hands-on training to K-12 students preparing them with the skills to be productive employees.

The KCTA curriculum is structured by industry and instruction is provided by a combination of professional educators and real-world subject matter experts. KC Tech Academy’s vision is to be the most efficient creator of top skilled professionals with the highest placement rate with no debt to the student. This will be accomplished through collaboration with all levels of education and broad representation from industry.

EBTT (Employer-Based Transition Training) /Project Most (Maximizing Opportunities for Successful Transition)
Magna Cosma International, LMV Automotive Systems

This is a on-the-job training that is offered Monday-Friday from 8:15 A.M. to 2:15 P.M.

The EBTT/Project MOST program provides real-life work experience and training to help youth with significant disadvantages or different abilities to make successful transitions from school to productive adult life. Students will be enrolled in a nine-month program that provides training and career exploration, innovative adaptations, long-term job coaching, and continuous feedback from teachers, skills trainers and the LMV/Magna employers.
