The Liberty community has seen broad successes in primary employer growth and commercial development.
The population of both Liberty (30,096), and Clay County (230,473), has comprised much of the growth on the Missouri side of the metropolitan area. In the North East of metropolitan area the community is well suited for distribution and supply chain assets, investments in manufacturing and production with a draw of urban and suburban workforce, and automotive support operations with the proximity to two OEM’s in the Kansas City market.

Automotive/Supply Chain
The state of Missouri has distinguished itself as a top state for automotive vehicle production, possessing a base of automotive industrial knowledge that is unrivaled. Liberty is at the heart of that advancement.
Ford Motor company’s Claycomo Assembly Plant, at the communities edge, is Ford’s top producing plant by volume globally. The facility produces the leaders in their class; Ford F-150, and Transit Commercial Van, employing 7,000 people at the assembly and newly constructed 500,000 square feet stamping plant in Liberty. This continued investment has been supported by the forethought of state, county, metro, and community leaders at all levels. It continues to pay dividends through the additional supplier network servicing the facility.With just-in-time capabilities to Ford suppliers can also utilize a strategic location in liberty to serve the General Motors Fairfax facility similar to the recent investments (2012 & 2014) made by Magna International’s, LMV Automotive Systems.

Distribution/Logistics
Aside from the automotive supply chain, companies have long recognized Kansas City as a hub for their logistic and supply chain investments. Home to a 1,000,000 square foot Hallmark Distribution facility and assets of global animal health distribution company, Liberty can serve the Midwest and within less than a days drive of nearly have the US population.
Excellent access to Interstate and Highway networks, together with Rail and Air access this location can meet the critical needs of any local, regional company, or global enterprise. Interstate – 35 has three recently reconstructed interchanges in Liberty, with regional connectivity on the I-435 loop less than 5 miles away and additional North South and East West corridors in I-29 & I-70 respectively. Advanced Manufacturing
Liberty has a strong manufacturing presence. With the access and visibility the community has been the successful home to investments in advanced manufacturing technologies for firms like Rock Tenn and Holland 1916 and has thrived as the global corporate headquarters for Continental Disc Company. Continued infrastructure investments and site diligence has recently been completed on additional 200 acres of development opportunities, with more in the pipeline.
Growing population and industry leading pipeline of next generation employees through programs like Northland CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) will continue to differentiate Liberty from other communities throughout the state.
